Well, since the last time I posted I completed another 20 mile run!!...AND all by myself!! It was not horrible like I expected it to be. However, my water pack bugged me a lot during my first long run and gave me a really painful bruise on my back so I didn't want to bring it on my 20 miler. I re-worked my route so that I could swing by my parents often enough to reload water and gu. I went 6 miles at first then reloaded and went out for another 6. I felt really pretty great after hitting 12! But then when I hit 16 I started cramping really badly. I think it was partly from the cold and partly from not hydrating enough. I walked for about 2 minutes to do a gu and drink a good amount of water. That helped a lot and once I started running again I was able to make it to 20! It was a great accomplishment for me. I didn't think I'd ever be able to do 20 miles before this marathon. And now I've done it twice. I think back to the pain I was in during July and all the doctors telling me there was no way I could do the Chicago marathon on October 9 and I am so proud of myself. I would never have done it if I wasn't committed to doing this for PAWS Chicago. I knew I was obligated to this and it has pushed me so hard and I'm thrilled to do it. It is such a good cause, I urge you all to PLEASE help these animals and help me reach my goal!! Donate at
